# Render Network Manager app

Install Render Network Manager, download frames, and upload scenes from your desktop.

## Install the app

Download the installer for your computer:

| Windows                                                                                                                          | macOS                                                                                                                           | Linux                                                                                                                              |

The same downloads are available under **Downloads** in the web app's account area, in **Desktop App**.

## Download frames without signing in

1. Open the Manager. In **Instant Download**, use the folder button beside **Default Download Location** to choose where to save your files.
2. In the web app, [download your frames](/docs/web-app/download-frames.md) using the desktop Download Manager. Allow the browser to open the Manager when prompted.
3. Follow the download progress in the Manager. Use the pause button beside a download to pause it; click it again to resume. **Go to Folder** opens the default download folder.

If you exported links instead, drag the TXT or CSV file into **Instant Download**, or click outside the text fields and paste the links with Ctrl+V on Windows/Linux or Command+V on macOS.

{% hint style="info" %}
Receiving a download from the web app switches the Manager to **Instant Download**. If you are signed in to the Manager, this signs you out.
{% endhint %}

If the Manager reports expired links, request fresh links from the web app and try again.

For automatic delivery, see [Auto-Download](/docs/web-app/download-frames.md#set-up-automatic-local-downloads).

## Sign in to manage scenes and jobs

Click **Toggle compact mode** at the top if the login form is hidden. Enter your OTOY username and password, or paste an [access token](/docs/web-app/access-keys.md) into **access token**, then click **Login**.

The Manager checks the token's permissions. If it reports missing access, review those permissions under **Access Tokens** in the web app. A successful token login saves the token for later sign-ins.

## Upload from your computer

1. Open **Scenes** and click **Upload**, or drag files into the Manager window.
2. For a ZIP or GZ archive, choose the scene type if **Confirm ZIP/GZ File Contents** appears, then click **Confirm**. Submit different archive types separately because this choice applies to all unidentified archives in that upload.
3. Follow the upload and processing in **Activity**. The uploaded scenes appear in **Scenes**.

You can upload ORBX and OCS files, prepared Blender files, and scene archives. For Cinema 4D, use a collected project folder or a ZIP containing the project and its assets. Follow the [scene preparation guide](/docs/prepare-your-scene/overview.md) before uploading.

When the job settings open, choose **Skip creating jobs** to finish the upload without starting a render. You can select the ready scene in **Scenes** and click **Create Job** later. Review the settings, then click **Confirm & Start Render**. For Octane scenes, the confirmation may also ask you to confirm that you checked the scene in Standalone and estimated its cost.

For repeated revisions, see [Differential uploads](/docs/prepare-your-scene/differential-uploads.md). The [Manager help](https://github.com/nordskill/render-network-manager-app/tree/main/docs) covers presets, download folders, and other desktop settings.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://know.rendernetwork.com/docs/tools-and-api/manager-app.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
