# Sidebar and Favorites

Use Favorites, reorder the sidebar, and choose which main menu items stay visible.

## Open projects and favourites

Click the arrow beside **Projects** or **Favorites** to expand the group, then click an item's name to open it. Click the **Projects** name itself to open the full project list. Its plus button opens [Create Project](/docs/web-app/projects.md#create-a-project).

If **Done Editing** is visible, click it before using the sidebar to open pages.

## Add a favourite

Click the star on a project, scene, or job. You can use the star on a tile, in a table row, on a job's **Big Cards** card, or in an open item's **Attributes** panel. If the panel is hidden, click the item's name at the top of its page.

The item appears under **Favorites** in the sidebar. Click its filled star again to remove it from favourites. This keeps the project, scene, or job itself.

If a list's stars are hidden, enable **Favorite** in [Fields](/docs/web-app/views.md#choose-visible-fields).

## Customise the sidebar

Click **Customize Sidebar** below the main menu, then use the controls beside the entries:

| Control                     | What it changes                                                                                                                  |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Pin beside a main menu item | Shows or hides that item when you finish editing. Hidden items remain available in **Customize Sidebar**. |
| Drag handle | Reorders the main menu, projects within **Projects**, or favourites within **Favorites**. Expand a group to reorder its entries. |
| Cross beside a favourite | Removes that entry from **Favorites**. |

Click **Done Editing** when you are finished.

Projects appear automatically in the **Projects** group. You can reorder them there; deleting a project is a separate [Delete](/docs/web-app/archive.md#delete-a-project) action.

## Other sidebar controls

The lower part of the sidebar contains **Shop**, **Updates**, **Knowledge Base**, **Help & Feedback**, and **Back to the old version**.

Click your name or account icon at the bottom to open account settings. The **Interface Settings** button beside it opens [layout and colour themes](/docs/web-app/appearance.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://know.rendernetwork.com/docs/web-app/navigation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
