# Search

Find projects, scenes, and jobs by name or ID, then narrow the results with filters.

## Find by name or ID

1. Click **Search for anything...** at the top of the app.
2. Type part of a name, or paste a complete ID copied from the item's [details](/docs/web-app/views.md#copy-an-id).
3. Leave **All** selected to search projects, scenes, and jobs together, or choose **Projects**, **Scenes**, or **Jobs**.
4. Double-click a result, or use its **Open** action.

Before you type a name or ID or choose a filter, search shows up to 25 recently updated items of each type, with the most recently updated first.

Click the cross in the search field, or click outside the search panel, to close it and clear the search text and filters.

## Narrow the results

Use **Date Range** to find items created within a period. Click **More** to open **Search properties**, enable another filter, and enter or select its values.

| Search selection        | Additional filters                                                                               |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **All** or **Projects** | **ID**, **Name** |
| **Scenes** | **ID**, **Name**, **Project ID**, **Host app**, **Status** |
| **Jobs** | **ID**, **Name**, **Scene ID**, **Minimum frames**, **Maximum frames**, **Host app**, **Status** |

**Host app** selects the application used for the scene. **Status** helps find work at a particular stage, such as scenes that are ready or jobs that are rendering.

For **All**, **Scenes**, and **Jobs**, **More** also offers **Hide expired**. Turn it on to leave expired scenes and jobs out of the results.

To remove a filter, clear its values or uncheck it in **More**. Switching between **All**, **Projects**, **Scenes**, and **Jobs** changes which filters are offered.

### Search for several names

Leave the main search field empty, enable **Name** in **More**, and enter each name followed by Enter. Results can match any of the names you entered. Other enabled filters still narrow those results.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://know.rendernetwork.com/docs/web-app/search.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
